This Deluxe handcrafted Bouzouki with Solid spruce top & solid Sapele back & sides
was designed by master luthier, Martyn Banks of renowned musical instrument builders "Oakwood instruments" in Leeds UK and hand crafted by carefully selected, highly skilled luthiers in the far east .
As well as being superbly hand crafted Lewis Sapele Bouzouki as with all the Lewis Mandolin family benefits from unique, tried and tested design features that have been developed by Oakwood instruments over a period of several decades.
The Spruce top and Sapele back and sides are carefully selected from high grade timber stock.
Sapele is favoured as a tone wood not only for it's warm tone but it's often highly figured appearance which for some is favourable to the straighter grain of quarter sawn mahogany.
Whilst being ideal for this purpose the Lewis Sapele Bouzouki is by no means restricted to rhythm playing.
Due to the tried and tested Oakwood design of this superb instrument it has sufficient volume and clarity of tone to function as a lead melody instrument.
The satin finished body of the Morgan Lewis Sapele Bouzouki has a simple yet eye-catching quadruple binding from the outside configured thus - rosewood - ebony - maple - ebony.
The oval sound hole echoes this simple approach with a single abalone ring.
